AAAHHHHH.......................

The sound of rain. I am sitting checking my e-mail and we are getting a storm right now. My window is open and it is pouring rain, I could sit for hours and listen to rain. Two sounds that relax me the most are the sound of rain and sound of waves at the ocean. So I ask myself "SeLf" why do I live in the desert????????????

July 4th in the Cool Pines

We were smart and escaped the heat and headed up North. We were joined by my Mom, Dad, Sister & her family. As we were driving one view out the window was hazy, cloudy & dark and the other side was clear with the sun setting. It was wierd to say the least and then we hit the storm. It started to thunder then the lightening and then the rain poured down. By the time we hit our cabin it was wet & cool. Just what we were dreaming of. Yes we do look very forward to rain as living in the desert we see so little of that. So the weekend started off on the right foot. We had some time to relax, we cooked up some good meals, we visited the home made ice cream store- Yum... it is so delicious, we played cards and laughed a lot. More memories for our photo books.

The view on the drive up

Bird House Hanging

Family time at our cabin is so enjoyable. We decided a quick and last minute trip (sometimes those are the best ones) and we enjoyed just having some quiet family time. We had a hanging ceremony of our newly hand crafted bird house built by Jeff's younger cousin Jessica who lives in Ohio. She was so sweet to make it and hand carried it on the plane and gave it to us during her visit in March.

THANK YOU THANK YOU JESSICA. It was so sweet & thoughtful of you. We love it and Dylan had fun hanging it.

We strolled the local festival in down town, enjoyed a 4x4 cruise through the Tonto national forest, and ended the day with a mountain walk up & down the hills around our cabin. Dylan just loves being in the mountains. It was a wonderful weekend.

Our mountain house is the perfect place to have fun, hang out with family, invite friends, enjoy & appreciate nature, & most of all create life long memories to fill up our photo books. Looking forward to many many more good times.

SOO MUCH TO CATCH UP ON......

So since I have fallen behind once again I will have to do catch up and post everyday this week and post things in bits & pieces. I will start off with the d-backs game.
Jeff, Dylan, My Mom & I enjoyed a d-backs game. It was off to a great start until they opened the roof just before the start of the game and the sun was not down and we were in the sun so it was hot & and we were a sweatin. My Mom's hospital that she works at was recognized at the game. It would have been much more fun had the d-backs won.

Jeff with his ralley cap but it did not bring the d-backs luck. Oh just like the saying ya win some and ya lose some and we witnessed a loss. Maybe we will have better luck next time. We had a lot of fun and good laughs. Thanks Mom for getting the tickets.

Happy Father's Day

My Dad's love never places judgment on me
his love comes unconditional & unselfishly

You have such a contagious smile
and with no doubt you will always go the extra mile

For all the things you do to show how much you care
gives me no doubt that you will always be there

You have taught me the difference between right & wrong
and in becoming a woman, you've taught to always be strong

As with age you can sometimes get crabby
but that will never change your my great Daddy

My son looks up to you in the things you do & say
so please be discrete with what you speak each & everyday :)

Thank you for all you do
and for just being you

Each day as you look in the mirror I pray that you will see
that you absolutely mean the world to me!

I love you Dad & I hope you have a wonderful day.

Written with Love from my heart,

Erin
